A guide to recycling your Flora & Curl

This guide contains helpful information on how to recycle your Flora & Curl product and delivery packaging.

After enjoying your Flora & Curl products down to the last drop, we encourage you to recycle your packaging responsibly so that it can be put to good use and repurposed, rather than putting it in the waste bin.

RECYCLE - REDUCE - RE-USE

Recycling and reducing is part of our current sustainability efforts. As part of our transparent policy, this guide is something we’re excited to share with you. Together, we can make a real impact. In the future, we will explore ways to encourage re-using in our packaging processes.

The majority of our current individual product packaging is recyclable and minimal with no outer packaging, plastic seals or films and excess labels. Our shipping and gift set packaging options are eco-friendly by way of their minimalism, biodegradability and ethical sourcing.

To us, what is inside of a product is also as important as what is outside. We believe that less is more, which is why we created a streamlined hair product range with ingredients inside formulas that are potent, so that ultimately, a little goes a longer way when using Flora & Curl products.

3 steps to recycle your Flora & Curl product packaging

1

Remove

Once you have enjoyed your Flora & Curl products down to the very last drop, the packaging can be recycled and turned into a new use once it is completely emptied.

2

Rinse

Get all of the excess out, and rinse out the jar, bottle or lid with some warm water and dish washing soap. Don't worry about drying them!

3

Recycle

Place your jar or bottle separate to its lid,  in your recycling bin, ready for recycling pick-up by the local authority or for your own drop-off at your local facility. The recyclable packaging will make its way to be repurposed.

Your Flora & Curl shipping packaging

We ship your orders out using 100% recyclable and biodegradable materials.

Let's break it down (literally)

Our shipping boxes

Our custom boxes are 100% biodegradable and recyclable. Made from 70% recycled content, the inks used on our small custom boxes are plant based, vegetable based inks such as soy, linseed, tung, castor, canola, and safflower oils. The inks used on our large, fold-up custom boxes are water based.

These inks release as little as 2-4% VOCs (Volatile Organic Chemicals) into the atmosphere as opposed to the 30% which common petroleum based inks does. They are also a lot easier to clean during the recycling process, using only water instead of harsh chemicals.

Our filler material

Say hello to our new eco-friendly filler or ''peanuts'', designed to protect your products during transit to you! Our rose pink packing peanuts aren't just a pretty face that matches our love for all things bright and beautiful! Our eco-friendly alternative to standard fillers, provides durability during shipment, allowing you to receive your new F&C goodies undamaged. The peanuts are also super-lightweight, odourless, completely plastic-free, 100% biodegradable, eco-friendly and compostable. The peanuts can also be dissolved in water. Simply run the peanuts in tap and watch those peanuts disappear! As the peanuts are made from renewable raw materials and are coloured using food-grade colours - you do not need to worry about polluting water systems or disrupting ecosystems.
